Since 2004 the federal government has sent Colorado close to $30 million to help doctors and hospitals share records electronically. But chances are, if you end up in an ambulance, the hospital you arrive at still won't be able to pull up your health record quickly, if at all. Dr. Larry Wolk and Mary Brown work for digital clearinghouses that connect health care providers and translate between all their different software systems to give doctors actionable information about the patients in front of them. They tell CPR's Ryan Warner that significant progress is being made.
