NPR Music today announced New Orleans band Tank and the Bangas as the winner of the third annual Tiny Desk Contest.

NPR's Bob Boilen writes that the panel of 10 judges -- which included Phish's Trey Anastasio and R&B artist Miguel -- came to a unanimous decision to select the band from a pool of more than 6,000 entries. Tank And The Bangas will perform a Tiny Desk Concert at NPR headquarters later this year.

The winning video is full of playful energy from singer Tarriona "Tank" Ball and her band. The featured song "Quick" blends soul and rap. Watch the video above.
