Covenhoven, the musical project of Colorado folk musician Joel Van Horne, came into the CPR Performance Studio a short while ago to perform three songs from 2013's debut self-titled LP. Van Horne's husky vocals along with his backing band's banjo and acoustic guitar provide the songs with a rustic folk atmosphere, doused with occasional swells of classical strings.

Alisha Sweeney chatted with Van Horne about the process behind recording, performing, and producing the album all on his own, and the origins of the log cabin that gave the band its name.
