Greta Kline, who fronts the New York-based band Frankie Cosmos, writes songs that often run less than two minutes but always manage to include a few pop earworms. The singer and guitarist released dozens of albums and EPs online before signing to Sub Pop. The New York City band's new LP "Vessel" is its debut for the revered indie music record label.

More from OpenAir Sessions:

Frankie Cosmos visited the CPR Performance Studio last week before a concert at Boulder's Fox Theatre. The band members played four songs from "Vessel" and spoke with Alisha Sweeney about finding the dog that appears on the album's cover photo, using iPhones to record song demos and their love for the music of harpist Joanna Newsom.
