OpenAir hosted the Annual Holiday Show by Nathaniel Rateliff at the Gothic Theatre on Friday, November 29. The concert featured Rateliff performing his singer-songwriter material followed by an after-party where he retook the stage with the Night Sweats. Land Lines also performed.
Playing to a packed Gothic Theatre whose audience included Governor John Hickenlooper, Rateliff shined throughout the night. He captivated as both a heartfelt folk-rocker in a set featuring material from his latest album Falling Faster Than You Can Run, and as an energetic soul bandleader with Night Sweats. The musical transformation that took place in between sets was nothing short of magical, but it seemed effortless for Rateliff and his band, which included Pope for both performances.
Prior to the annual show, Rateliff stopped by OpenAir with bandmate Joseph Pope III for a Guest DJ interview session with Mile High Noon host Corey Jones. In addition to detailing the evolution of the Holiday show, the local musicians debut a new Night Sweats track as well as a song from Pope's Miss America project.
