Lillian, ‘Desert Song’

Lillian Soderman spent time in Portland, Ore., and Los Angeles working as a counselor for the homeless and teaching herself to play guitar. She began writing songs in those cities, but it was the return to her hometown of Denver that led her to record the "Desert Song" EP as Lillian.

The record features the production work of Inner Oceans frontman Griff Snyder and several members of Paper Bird as Soderman's backing band.

On the record's title track, Soderman sings of a rustic place of tranquility in her low vocal register as the band quickly builds a folk-rock crescendo.
