PHOX are quickly working their way into the nation's consciousness, thanks to mentions in NPR Music's Austin 100 list of the best buzz bands at this year's festival, and to their infectiously catchy and breezy indie pop. The seven-piece hailing from Baraboo, Wis., played a vibrant set at last year's Denver Music Summit, and stopped into our CPR Performance Studio before heading down to SXSW 2014.
The band also announced today that it has signed to Partisan Records!
Alisha Sweeney spoke with the band about their SXSW survival tips, growing up and playing music in the "farm town" of Baraboo, and some memorable tour stories. The band played four songs for us, including "Evil" and "Kingfisher."
Stream the entire session above, and don't miss them if you're down in Austin next week!
