David Bowie to co-write musical

David Bowie is bringing his 1976 vehicle "The Man Who Fell to Earth" to the live stage. The singer-songwriter will co-write a musical with Edna Walsh based on the science fiction film about an alien who unexpectedly lands on earth.

The theater production, titled "Lazarus," will feature new music from Bowie and will open later this year. Unlike the film, Bowie will not star in the play. [via The A.V. Club]
