Uriah Heep's 1972 album "Demons And Wizards" is featured on this week's Retrofit.
Once upon a legendary time, shortly after the "Sgt. Pepper's" summer and just before disco planted it's sequined heel on the world of music, there was a brief era of enchantment and Mellotrons.
This week we harken back to a witchwood of psychedelic fairy tales and temporary talismans. The genre is the theme that weaves a jumbled story of spells, wizards, gnomes, epic battles and returning kings.
It's a Prog Fantasy on Retrofit, 5 p.m. Saturday and noon Sunday. To get you in the mood, here is a playlist as mystical as a synthesizer soaked in elf honey and as volume-conscious as a dragon awakened in the middle of a 500-year nap.
