- There’s a new voice on CPR Classical! You may have heard her in the last few weeks. If not, tune in weekends to meet Patty Painter-Wakefield. Patty’s radio career began in college, first at WFDD in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, while getting her bachelor’s degree in music at Wake Forest University.
- Colorado’s musical community received devastating news this week: violinist Charles Wetherbee died from cancer in the early hours of January 9. The Boulder Philharmonic concertmaster was 56. Charles Wetherbee, or “Chas” as he was known, debuted at age six with his hometown orchestra, the Buffalo Philharmonic, under conductor Symon Bychkov.
