In Colorado, you know summer has arrived just by listening.
Music festivals statewide are underway. Music fills the air as students and renowned performers come to participate. We capture it during CPR SummerFest.
All summer on CPR Classical, listen for performances throughout each day.
You'll hear music from the Aspen Music Festival and School, the Colorado Music Festival and Central City Opera's 60th anniversary production of "The Ballad of Baby Doe."
Bravo! Vail brings back the Philadelphia Orchestra, New York Philharmonic, Dallas Symphony and welcomes the Academy of St. Martin in the Fields with star violinist and music director, Joshua Bell.
And this just scratches the surface.
Some of the best teaching in classical music happens in Colorado as hundreds of young students flock here to learn the craft. They invariably come away with some of the best memories of their lives.
You can share in some of these memories as CPR SummerFest 2016 brings you more festival broadcast performances than ever before, plus behind-the-scenes interviews and stories that illuminate the music.
