Live on CPR Classical Jan. 17: Boulder Philharmonic featuring Conrad Tao

Pianist and composer Conrad Tao comes to Macky Auditorium at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 17, for a performance with the Boulder Philharmonic. Hear the full concert live on CPR Classical with host Charley Samson.

Tao will be the featured soloist on Beethoven’s “Emperor” Piano Concerto and the Philharmonic will also play his composition “Pangu.”

The subtitle for the concert is “Creative Legends.” The full program:

  • Beethoven: “Overture to The Creatures of Prometheus”
  • Haydn: “Chaos from The Creation”
  • Milhaud: “La création du monde”
  • Conrad Tao: “Pangu”
  • Beethoven Piano Concerto No. 5 (“Emperor”)

Tao, who serves as artist-in-residence with the Dallas Symphony, released his first album, “Voyages,” in 2013.
