Cottonwood Center for the Arts, 427 E Colorado Ave., Colorado Springs, 80903
Cottonwood Center for the Arts is pleased to present a juried show for the month of December composed of artists working in all mediums on paper.
The phrase paper tiger means one that is outwardly powerful or dangerous but inwardly weak or ineffectual. With this open call for entries we asked for a transposition of this meaning – works on paper, a simple, well known, and accessible medium – that are fierce, meaningful, soulful, and grab you in your tracks.
How much can the artist say in an instant on paper? How much emotion can they convey, share, and evoke? How much of self and heart can be fit on a sheet of paper?
This call was exclusively for works on paper, of any size and theme. Works were juried in to the show based solely on content and the impact of the artists message.
KRCC has moved, and our new home, the Southern Colorado Public Media Center, also houses the Colorado College Journalism Institute, and Rocky Mountain PBS’s Regional Innovation Center. See more photos and learn about the new space.
