Event Description

Fremont County Community Concert Association presents an evening of music with the Frisson Ensemble on Tuesday, February 21st, at 7 pm in the Canon City H.S. Lou Del Pizzo Auditorium, 1313 College Avenue, Canon City.
Frisson features the best and brightest of classical music's stars! The group showcases emerging young artists as well as seasoned professionals and has skyrocketed to become America’s hottest new classical group from New York City. They are known for performing a wide variety of genres and styles including classical, popular, folk and jazz. Their “American Tribute Tour” will feature beloved music from Gershwin and Cole Porter, melodies from Appalachian Spring, American themes from Dvorak’s music, ragtime from Scott Joplin and perhaps a Stephen Foster song.
The ensemble performs in over 25 cities annually including appearances in such diverse venues as the Morgan Library and Museum in New York City, the Da Camera Society in Los Angeles and at the Bermuda Festival. Frisson comes from the French word meaning “a shiver or a thrill, a sudden feeling of excitement.” And thrill you they will! Led by oboist Thomas Gallant, the young virtuosos play with life, zest and virtuosity!
Tickets at the door are $20. Complimentary admission for students through age 18 when accompanied by a member. For additional information and videos about this and future concerts, visit www.fremontcountyconcerts.org and www.frissonensemble.com or call Marty at 719-275-5950.
