Colorado Public Radio (CPR) is seeking a Senior Host / Producer for CPR Classical.

About the Position:

CPR’s Senior Classical Host / Producer hosts regular weekly airshifts as well as periodic fill-in work on-air. They will announce in a way that is listener-focused, engaging, personable, timely, and topical about classical music and local cultural connections. The CPR Senior Classical Host / Producer delivers the highest public radio standards for curating classical music and weaving in produced content. They also create periodic content for broadcast and digital (e.g., fundraising, web, production and participating in live on-air fundraising).

You’re known or have a reputation for your riveting storytelling abilities. You have a hunger or curiosity for music discovery.  You are knowledgeable of classical music and recorded classical repertoire. You enjoy staying current on classical music news, events and issues. You have excellent communication skills and an engaging presence. You’re an adaptable person, open to new ideas and able to adjust your plans to meet the changing needs of CPR. You are results focused, prioritize tasks well, and have high standards for your work. You listen well to others and value collaborative problem solving. 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of or passion for classical music
  • 5+ years of experience broadly related to the position
  • Dynamic presence with exceptional communication skills
  • Previous on-air announcing experience is preferred, but radio, television or professional performance experience is also helpful.
  • General PC computer competency and familiarity with audio editing software

Education Equivalency

  • Associate’s degree in music or a related academic discipline and 3 years of experience related to the position. Bachelor’s degree in music or a related academic discipline and 2 years of experience related to the position, OR no degree and  5+ years of experience related to the position.

Hiring Range: $64,200 - $85,500  

Structure Title: Senior Host, Radio Show - Classical

Starting Pay: based on education and experience.
