For home buyers in Denver, times are tough. A population boom coupled with a lack of inventory has home prices consistently setting new records. In fact, homes prices have increased every month for nearly three years now.

The latest numbers come from the closely-watched Case Shiller Home Price index, which tracks prices for major U.S. cities.

While some housing markets show a bit of cooling, Denver and Dallas remain hot, regularly posting record prices. In Denver specifically, home values are increasing at twice the national rate.
