Colorado's Missy Franklin became a professional swimmer Monday, reported the Denver Post. Franklin won four Olympic gold medals at age 15. The 19-year-old has been part of a collegiate team, and now she's signed with California-based WME-IMG.
"My focus in the pool is going to be pushing myself day in and day out to be my best self and achieve my goals, and I know that my new team at WME-IMG will help me use the platform I have been given to make a difference," Franklin said in a news release.
Franklin will be swimming in multiple international events this year, including the world championships in Kazan, Russia, according to the Denver Post.
