More motorcycle riders are dying in Colorado so far this year after the deaths reached an all-time high in 2015.
The Denver Post reports Colorado Department of Transportation data shows 58 deaths this year through July 20, up from 51 at the same time in 2015.
Motorcyclist deaths peaked last year at 105 people. In 2014, there were 94 motorcycle deaths.
Traffic safety spokesman Sam Cole said in a statement that riders and drivers need to help combat this alarming problem that is growing nationwide.
There were 34 riders without helmets among the 58 motorcyclists who died this year.
Motorcycle safety campaigns have promoted rider safety courses and asked drivers to look closer for motorcycles.
All traffic deaths in 2015 increased by about 10 percent from 2014.
