Snow Cancels Red Rocks Easter Sunday Sunrise Service

An Easter Sunday service at Red Rocks Amphitheatre has been canceled due to the amount of snowfall at the venue left after a Wednesday storm.

KUSA-TV reports that Adrian Miller with the Colorado Council of Churches says the nonprofit organization doesn't have the thousands of dollars needed to remove the snow by the Sunday sunrise service.

Nearly two feet of snow fell during Wednesday's storm and more snow and cold temperatures are forecast for Saturday.

The Easter service has been held at Red Rocks for over 60 years and is streamed online by people from all around the world.

Organizers may reschedule the service at a later date.
