Oral arguments start Tuesday before the U.S. Supreme Court in Masterpiece Cake Shop vs. Colorado Civil Rights Commission. The case began in 2012 when Christian cake maker Jack Phillips in Lakewood refused on religious grounds to make a custom cake for the same-sex wedding of Charlie Craig and David Mullins. The high court is now being asked to balance discrimination law, civil rights, and the First Amendment.
