Broncos fans have painted the town orange and blue this week, and cultural institutions are also rallying around the hometown team.

The Denver Philharmonic Orchestra is one of the local organizations getting in on the action in honor of the big game.

In the spirit of friendly competition, the Denver Philharmonic Orchestra and the Seattle Philharmonic Orchestra challenged each other to produce classical renditions of contemporary favorites and collaborated on a mashup video touting their respective cities.

The Denver musicians performed a cover of John Denver’s “Rocky Mountain High” and shot footage in City Park. The Seattle players took on BJ Thomas’ hit “Rain Drops Keep Fallin’ on My Head” and filmed in Kerry Park.

“Our city’s cultural teams are just as strong as our football team,” executive director Valerie Clausen says. “And we share the same overall mission: to make this community an exciting, vibrant and engaging place to live.”
