Colorado’s Americana music festivals feature fiddles, clarinets, banjos and more
To define Americana music, you have to cast a wide net from blues to bluegrass and folk to funk.
This year, a host of Colorado music festivals dive into this diverse genre.
Brian Johnson, editor of Marquee Magazine, which covers Colorado’s live music scene, says that although big festivals like RockyGrass and Telluride Bluegrass are already sold out, Americana fans should not despair. He suggests checking out these other festivals:
Meadowgrass, May 23-25 at La Foret in Black Forest, north of Colorado Springs
Snowmass Mammoth Festival, June 13-15 in Snowmass Town Park, Snowmass
Palisade Bluegrass and Roots, June 13-15 at Riverbend Park, Palisade
Rapid Grass, June 27-28 at the Shelly/Quinn Baseball Fields, Idaho Springs
Telluride Americana, July 16-19 at the Sheridan Opera House, Telluride
