The experience two Native American teen brothers faced while touring Colorado State University recently -- they were stopped and questioned by campus police after a call from a nervous parent -- is just one example of the challenges Native students face on college campuses, Cheryl Crazy Bull tells Colorado Matters. She's the president of the American Indian College Fund, which works to ease the roadblocks Native students must overcome to obtain a degree. Just 13 percent of American Indians and Alaska Natives earn a college degree, compared to around 30 percent of Americans overall.
