The ACLU of Colorado is suing Jefferson County Sheriff Ted Mink for keeping a Latino immigrant, named Luis Quezada, in jail for nearly two months without charges. The ACLU says the local agency did NOT have the legal authority to keep Quezada in jail for all of that time, and that the agency violated Quezada's basic due process right. But Jefferson County Sheriff Ted Mink says his agency kept Luis Quezada detained at the request of federal immigration authorities.
