Sexual harassment scandals at the Colorado Capitol have drawn attention to one group that isn’t used to the limelight: lawmakers’ aides and interns.

The Colorado House and Senate each have a handbook that says aides and interns may not grant interviews with reporters -- not about policy, not about their personal experience, not about anything at all.

There are some differences though: Democrats in the House and some in the Senate have said aides and interns are free to share their own thoughts and experiences. Most, but not all, Republicans say the rules clearly forbid media contact of any kind.
