For Red Rocks Amphitheatre’s 77th anniversary, the Colorado concert Mecca is pressing 40 years of its musical history onto wax. The "Red Rocks Live" album features 20 standout Red Rocks performances, available on vinyl and digital.

Tracks span the decades from the Grateful Dead’s 1978 performance of "Ship of Fools" to the Widespread Panic’s "Aint Life Grand" from a 2016 show, showcasing Red Rock’s rich history of jam bands. Popular bands of today also make an appearance, including Paramore, the Lumineers and Shakey Graves. "Red Rocks Live" also immortalizes performances from Sharon Jones and Leonard Cohen.

Brian Kitts of Denver Arts & Venues spoke to Colorado Matters about the stories behind the tracks.
