Remembering Chips Barry

Listen Now

We mark the passing of a man who had a huge impact on the lives of people all across the Front Range -- even though most did not know who he was. Hamlet Barry, who was known throughout his life by his childhood nickname, "Chips," was killed in a tractor accident in Hawaii on Sunday. The longtime general manager of Denver Water announced in January that he planned to step down in early July. The accident occurred while he was vacationing with his family on the small macadamia nut farm where he planned to retire. He was 66 years old.

Denver Water created an email address to send condolences: [email protected]
