Tiny Fly Takes on Powerful Weed

There's a new kind of fly in the BLM's Canyon of the Ancients National Monument. It could be essential to slowing down one of Colorado’s most noxious weeds. Managers there recently released the gall midge, an insect proven to help kill Russian knapweed. Experts with the Colorado Department of Agriculture plan to release more around the state. Ryan Warner talks with Heather Musclow, a natural resource specialist at the Bureau of Land Management’s Canyons of the Ancients.
