What Happens to Juvenile Lifers?

The US Supreme Court Monday said laws that mandate life sentences without parole for juveniles are unconstitutional. Colorado used to have such a law on its books. It doesn’t anymore. The big question is whether this decision will apply to the roughly 50 inmates here who were automatically sentenced as juveniles to life. In a few minutes, we’ll get reaction to the ruling in Colorado from Kim Dvorchak of the Colorado Juvenile Defender Coalition and Weld County District Attorney Ken Buck.
