Photo: Colorado classroomIn your “Blue Book” -- the voter guide that came in the mail -- you’ll see a state constitutional amendment that’ll require your full attention. Amendment 66 proposes an income tax hike for public schools to pay for, among other things, full-day Kindergarten.

It would also fund a set of school reforms that lawmakers have already mandated, like teacher evaluations. Finally, it overhauls how schools are financed for the first time in two decades.

Host Ryan Warner discusses Amendment 66 with the driving force behind the measure, State Senator Mike Johnston, a Denver Democrat.

We also hear from Ben DeGrow, who opposes the measure. DeGrow is an education policy analyst with the Independence Institute, a libertarian think-tank.
