"Once" tells the story of an Irish musician (Guy) and a Czech immigrant (Girl) drawn together by their shared love of music. The romantic musical takes place over the course of one fateful week, when the two musicians' unexpected friendship and collaboration evolves into a powerful but complicated romance!

"Once" was originally a 2006 feature film starring Glen Hansard, a singer/songwriter from the Irish band The Frames. By 2011, it was written into a musical. The song "Falling Slowly," originally written by Hansard for the film, won the Academy Award for Best Original Song.

This non-traditional love story picked up several awards, including a 2012 win for Best Musical.

Ward talks to us not only about the musical, but his impressions of Colorado and playing a thug on Downton Abbey. Host Alisha Sweeney also quizzes him on Colorado music.
