Adam “MCA” Yauch (1964-2012)

May 4, 2012

After a three-year battle with cancer, original Beastie Boy, Adam "MCA" Yauch has died, May 4, 2012. Yauch leaves a 33-year music career, steeped in punk and hip hop. His most notable contribution to music lies in his role as one third of recent Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame inductees, Beastie Boys. Alongside remaining Boys and life-long friends, Michael "Mike D" Diamond, and Adam "Ad-Rock" Horovitz, the Beastie Boys inspired generations and genres in ways others only dream of. With eight studio albums, 35 singles, countless music videos and endless activism work, MCA's legacy will, no doubt, live on.
