Geographer

Geographer, the project of San Francisco musician Michael Deni, played in the CPR Performance Studio this week prior to a show at Denver's Larimer Lounge. The band's third album, "Ghost Modern," is out now.

It was Deni's first performance since the South by Southwest (SXSW) Festival in Austin, Texas, where Geographer played six shows (three of them in the rain).

In addition to playing stripped-down versions of three "Ghost Modern" songs, he spoke with Alisha Sweeney about the SXSW experience, the existential themes of the new album and his serendipitous discovery of a synthesizer on the side of a road that inspired his music.

Songs performed:

  • "I'm Ready"
  • "Need"
  • "Too Much"
