Sharon Van Etten announces new EP

Singer-songwriter Sharon Van Etten will follow up last year's "Are We There" album with a new five-song EP titled "I Don't Want to Let You Down." It's out June 9 via Jagjaguwar and features contributions from members of The War on Drugs. [via Pitchfork]

Hip-hop producer Flying Lotus interviewed Kendrick Lamar this week during the former's monthly residency for the radio network. They discussed the future of hip-hop and Lamar's recently released "To Pimp a Butterfly" album, and shared a previously unreleased collaboration.

Boston proclaims April 9 "Riot Grrrl Day"

Boston mayor Marty Walsh declared April 9 "Riot Grrrl Day" in the city. The designation is in honor of Le Tigre/Bikini Kill/The Julie Ruin frontwoman Kathleen Hanna, a longtime feminist musician and author of the "Riot Grrrl Manifesto." [via Pitchfork]
