Weekly Music News: Riot Fest, St. Vincent, Jenny Lewis and more

Several new notable releases were announced this week:

  • Former Rilo Kiley/Postal Service singer Jenny Lewis will release her long-awaited third solo record "The Voyager" this July. It arrives six years after her last full-length, "Acid Tongue."
  • Lana Del Rey will release her sophomore album "Ultraviolence" on June 17 via Interscope. The pop chanteuse worked with the Black Keys' Dan Auerbach for the record's production.
  • The Flaming Lips' full-album cover of the Beatles' "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" will hit the shelves on Oct. 28. The previously announced record, titled "With a Little Help From My Fwends," notably features contributions from Miley Cyrus and Moby. The Lips have previously recorded a full cover of Pink Floyd's "Dark Side of the Moon" album.
  • Indie rockers Cymbals Eat Guitars will release their third album "LOSE" on Aug. 26 via Barsuk.

Riot Fest will return to Denver from Sept. 19-21. Once again taking place at May Farms in Byers, Colo., the festival announced its 2014 Denver lineup featuring headliners The Cure and The National along with Flaming Lips, TV On The Radio, Wu-Tang Clan, Weezer performing "The Blue Album" in its entirety, Dum Dum Girls, and many more. Following a nearly identical story in which former LCD Soundsystem James Murphy received his own blend of coffee from Blue Bottle, Chicago-based coffee company Intelligentsia has responded in kind by bestowing the same honor upon St. Vincent's Annie Clark. Clark's "Bring Me Your Mugs" blend, named after the SV track "Bring Me Your Loves," is available now via Intelligentsia, which Clark named her "favorite coffee shop."
