Denver director Jennifer McCray Rincon works with actor Bill Pullman, who wrote "The Wild Hunt," during rehearsal on Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2016.

Jennifer McCray Rincon is co-directing "The Wild Hunt," which Pullman wrote. She's a long-time collaborator of Pullman's and the founder of Denver's Visionbox Studio, where she teaches acting.

The project explores dark themes centered around pagan beliefs and the winter solstice. A character named Lussi in a mental hospital in New England has premonitions of an apocalypse. The production is still a work in progress. At the moment, it incorporates projections, original music, puppets and more. The creators will host a preview at the EXDO Event Center in Denver on Sunday, Jan. 10.

McCray Rincon spoke with Colorado Matters host Andrea Dukakis.
