A man appointed to the Longmont Housing Authority that city officials believe is homeless has resigned.
The Daily Times-Call reports that Joshua Canvasser sent a letter of resignation to the city dated Aug. 19.
He filled out an application for the housing authority board, but staff was unable to reach him at the workplace, his postal address and his email.
In his resignation, Canvasser says he is unable to fulfill the role of a board member as he previously believed he could. A man with the same name was booked into the Boulder County Jail on drug and assault charges earlier this month.
City officials say they will begin to re-advertise the board position. The housing authority is in charge of housing for low-income residents.
