Listen Now

Some argue that Anne Evans was the most influential but least-known supporter of the arts in Colorado history. Evans was the daughter of John Evans, the second governor of the Colorado Territory. She helped shape the Denver Art Museum, Denver Public Library and the Central City Opera, to name a few. Barbara Edwards Sternberg has written a biography of Evans. Sternberg told CPR’s Pat Mack that a year into her research, she hit a roadblock. (Originally aired May 10, 2011)
