Earlier this month, civics teachers met at the state capitol for “Colorado Civics Day.” It was their chance to connect with state government and take real-world lessons back to their students.  At a forum on the branches of government, Terrance Carroll represented the legislative branch. He’s the outgoing Speaker of the House. A teacher in the audience asked how he got into politics. He told this great story which he agreed to repeat for us.
