Jazz festivals abound across Colorado. You'll find them in big city parks and high-altitude mountain towns. 

Denver Post music columnist and KBCO morning host Bret Saunders says there's a jazz fest to fit every style and every budget.

He spoke with Colorado Matters host Ryan Warner for the first installment in our series about music festivals this summer.

Estes Park Jazz Festival, May 17-18: Great local jazz peformers and a few legendary suprises play this free event every year.

City Park Jazz: June 1-August 3: Free Sunday afternoon concerts crossing a range of styles.
 
Boulder JazzFest: July 5-6: The Boulder Daily Camera says this is a Cajun Styled New Orleans Festival on Pearl Street.
 
JAS-Aspen/Snowmass, June 19-July 7:  Featuring some jazz-friendly acts during the summer, along with the more pop-oriented line-up it has offered previously.
 
Evergreen Jazz Festival, July 25-27:  Great traditional jazz line up including big band music and more.
 
Telluride Jazz Festival, August 1-3:  A classic festival with great diversity and depth.
 
Genuine Jazz And Wine Festival at Copper Mountain,  August 22-24: Smooth jazz with wine in the mountains.
