In early tests, a new radar system gave people in the path of a tornado more time to prepare. Colorado State University engineering professor Chandra V. Chandraseker is developing the technology with researchers at the University of Massachusetts-Amherst, University of Oklahoma and University of Puerto Rico. It’s been tested in Oklahoma and is rolling out in a big metro area, Dallas-Fort Worth. He talked with CPR's Ryan Warner about the project, funded by the National Science Foundation.
