Online Shoppers May Have To Pay Colorado Sales Tax

If you’ve ever shopped online, you’ve probably noticed that you can avoid some taxes. Online sellers don’t have to collect state sales tax, unless they have a physical presence in the state. For Colorado, the stakes are high. One study shows that, if it collected state and city sales taxes online, it would stand to gain more than $300 million dollars a year! Well, Colorado lawmakers are taking steps to collect that revenue. Ryan Warner speaks with reporter Ed Sealover, of the Denver Business Journal, and Diana Nelson, owner of Kazoo Toys in Denver.
