Parents Start Clothing Business For Son In Prison

Listen Now

When Josh Abshier was 21 he went to prison for six years for drug-related crimes. His parents, Natalie and Jerry Abshier, started wondering what their son would do to support himself when he got out. The couple started a clothing line called CleanWear Fashion, which features their son’s art. Other prisoners started submitting their designs, too. The Abshiers have been selling the clothes, and prints of the artwork, at their gallery in Longmont. And they recently got the line into some other stores. Ryan Warner talks with Natalie Abshier.
