The Man Who ‘Invented’ Radio And Remote Control In Colorado Springs

His name is Nikola Tesla -- the same man whose name adorns those fancy automobiles. Tesla, a Serbian immigrant, came to America in the 1800s; before long, his work in electricity and using waves to transport sound made him one of the most famous people in the country.

In 1899, Tesla moved to Colorado Springs, where he spent a year doing some of his most important work. Tesla is the subject of an American Experience documentary airing Tuesday on PBS. Historian and author Jill Jonnes spoke with Colorado Matters host Nathan Heffel about Tesla.
