Three Colorado sheriff’s deputies have been shot and killed in the line of duty since December 31. What is life like for the surviving spouses? What kind of support do they get? We asked Heather Tharp about that. Her late husband, Weld County Sheriff's Deputy Sam Brownlee, was shot and killed during a police chase. Tharp serves on the board of Colorado COPS -- or Concerns of Police Survivors, which offers support to survivors of officers killed in the line of duty.
