Colorado State Fair Hires New General Manager

A California woman has been named the new general manager of The Colorado State Fair.

The Pueblo Chieftain reports that Sarah Cummings, CEO of the Sonoma-Marin County Fairground in Petaluma, California, will begin her new job in Pueblo Jan. 19. She will replace Chris Wiseman, who is now the deputy commissioner for the Colorado Department of Agriculture.

Cummings manages the 65-acre facility in Petaluma, supervising the activities of the fair and event center and overseeing the budget. She was previously the CEO of the Salinas Valley Fair in King City, Calif. In 2007, she held the role of deputy manager of the Monterey County Fair, also in California.

Cummings says she looks forward to her new role in Pueblo and "further developing the fairgrounds."
