Colorado Unemployment Rate Drops Slightly

Colorado’s unemployment rate dropped one-tenth of a percentage point in August, down to 4.2 percent.

According to new figures from the state Labor Department, employers added 2,400 non-farm jobs from July to August. The largest gains were in education, health care, and construction. Tourism and transportation lost positions.

Colorado’s unemployment rate is nearly a full percentage point below the national average.
