Colorado Congressional District 4 Race 2018: Rep. Ken Buck And Karen McCormick On The Issues

Windsor Republican Ken Buck, who earned a bachelor’s degree from Princeton and a law degree from the University of Wyoming, was a prosecutor for the Justice Department, and then Chief of the Criminal Division for the U.S. Attorney’s office in Colorado before winning election as Weld County District Attorney in 2004.

In 2010, he ran unsuccessfully against Democrat Michael Bennet for the U.S. Senate, then beat Democrat Vic Meyers in 2013 to win the CD2 seat left open by Cory Gardner when he ran for Senate.

Democrat Karen McCormick is a veterinarian in the Longmont area who has never run for elected office before. She earned degrees in agriculture, and veterinary medicine, and employs 24 people at her small animal hospital. She’s also served in leadership positions with various animal health organizations, coaches Colorado State University veterinary students in communication skills, and has been a volunteer English teacher fort immigrants.
