As The Denver Post notes, the 2018 race to be Colorado's Secretary of State is a contest between an experienced incumbent and a voting rights attorney. Republican Wayne Williams, who is seeking his second term, is a former commissioner and clerk and recorder from El Paso County.

The Secretary of State's office has been lauded for its election processes and security under his tenure.

Democrat Jena Griswold is challenging Williams primarily on the grounds of voter protection that stems from when the Trump administration asked for data from all 50 states in an effort to investigate possible voter fraud.

Where do the candidates stand on the issues? We've lined up a comparison of the major party candidates below. For more in-depth information, click on either "Yes," "No," or "It's Complicated." Blake Huber is the Approval Voting Party candidate and Amanda Campbell is the American Constitution Party candidate.
