Governor Owens Submits Petition on Roadless Areas

Gov. Bill Owens wants nearly all of Colorado’s roadless land to stay that way. He's asked the U.S. Forest Service to ban any new roads on more than four million acres in Colorado. Owens says these pristine places are an important resource. His proposal is the result of more than a year of hearings around the state by a bipartisan commission.
